Tona Shrum was born in Fredericktown, Missouri. She received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with an Emphasis in Criminal Law from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and earned her Juris Doctorate from Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon.

During law school, Tona clerked for the Oregon Department of Justice in the Family Law Division. Tona joined Apolinsky & Associates, LLC as a paralegal in 2004 and became an associate at the firm in 2007. Tona's focus is general civil litigation, including medical malpractice and personal injury.

Tona is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Stonewall Bar Association.
